Alac vs Mp3 vs Wav

ALAC (Apple Lossless Audio Codec) is an audio coding format developed by Apple Inc. for lossless data compression of digital music. With a reduction in the loss of originality and fast decoding speed, ALAC can provide a better sound quality. The file size required will be 50% of the uncompressed data.

MP3 is an audio coding format which uses a form of lossy data compression. It is a common audio format. The file size is small due to compression. However, there is a trade-off between the sound quality and the amount of data.

WAV is usually used for storing audio bit stream on PCs. As WAV file is uncompressed, it will be closer to the original music in terms of timbre. The file size is large and about 50 times more than an MP3 file.

In ZionNewSong Player, you may enjoy the perfect sound in ALAC formats.
